An Annual Membership in the Grapevine Garden Club is a terrific way to meet fellow gardeners, and grow your own knowledge and interest in all things green in North Texas. You'll be invited to monthly meetings, our newsletter, special access to plant sales and products, fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities, and so much more!

If by chance you have interest in volunteering as the Chair of a Committee, NONE are NEW events and there is the opportunity to shadow current Committee Chairs, not to mention ample material to complete the activity successfully. Butterfly Flutterby (BFFB) Festival: Chair coordinates with Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau and organizes volunteers for event. Art Contest: (GCISD elementary students) volunteers may be involved in art judging and manning the art display at the BFFB festival. Craft Booth: plans and assists BFFB attendees with butterfly themed craft activity. Sales Booth: sells butterfly related items. Science Booth: helps kids and adults learn about Monarchs using microscopes and other equipment supplied by the city or garden club. Watermelon Cutting (day before event).

Bulb Sales: There are two bulb sale events: spring bulbs in the fall and Caladiums in the spring. You can volunteer for one or both bulb sales. Selects and orders bulbs. Prepares order forms and club announcements. Takes bulb orders and payments. Prepares orders for delivery to members (typically at meetings). Recruit volunteers as needed.

Community Powered Revitalization (CPR) Project: joint effort between 6 Stones, the City of Grapevine, various businesses, nonprofit organizations, and churches to help homeowners who are struggling to make necessary home repairs; our effort focuses on yardwork for these homes.

Flowercade: promote member’s participation in the annual flower show at Ft Worth Botanic Garden; help members prepare entries for judging; transport horticultural entries to Ft Worth Botanical Garden for judging.

Garden Elves: support members small projects to maintain their garden due to injury, illness or incapacity.

Gardeners On the Go (GOG): plan and schedule monthly day trips/tours within the Metroplex.

Gardeners On Trips and Tours (GOTT): plan overnight out-of-town trips including hotel and transportation (once or twice a year) for member paid travel.

Gardens on View/Open Gardens: coordinate visits to local gardens; could be gardens of GGC members or friends in local area; generally following the monthly meetings.

Grapevine Botanical Gardens Docents: become a docent for visiting groups to the garden; assist in botanical garden plant map maintenance; training will be provided.

Holiday Luncheon: catered event in December

Membership Committee: greet members and visitors at meetings; maintain membership data; print and take care of name tags; prepare door prize gift bags. The team assists the Chair with preparing announcements and reports; logging and reporting both membership and participation data using MS Excel spreadsheets.

Native Tree 3rd Grade Project: leads once a year activity at select schools in GCISD to educate 3rd grade classes; teach care for native trees; coordinate volunteers at individual schools.

New Member Event: In October to welcome and introduce new members to our club

Newsletter: coordinate articles and publish monthly; Publisher and MS Word experience preferred.

Plant Sale: main fundraiser for the club in April supports our college scholarship program and other civic projects. Members are needed in a variety of support positions as well as Committee Chairs and Sub–Committee Coordinators. Work begins in January. Leads/volunteers for digging, splitting/potting heirloom plants at members’ homes (a “dig”); DIG hosts; propagate plants; wholesale plant shoppers; indoor plant coordinator; plant pricing; sale advertising; plant cleanup; hospitality for DIGs and sale; plant babysitters (help water and care for purchased plants until the day of the sale); coordinate donations and run Garden Bazaar at sale; sale set up/clean up (includes delivery of plants from members’ homes); cashiers; holding area support; Master Gardener plant docents at sale;

Scholarship: Chair communicates with GCISD high schools and Grapevine Faith counselors to advise of scholarship awards, timelines and submit payments to colleges. Committee volunteers review applications and determine annual scholarship winners.

Spring Luncheon: picnic style potluck event in May (no meeting in May).

Veterans Day Parade: walk or ride with other members up Main Street in the annual Grapevine Veterans Day Parade (November).

Website: keeps GGC website calendar updated and posts monthly minutes, reports, and meeting videos. Adds new pages and links as needed for new or seasonal projects. Currently run on Word Press.

West Texas Street Project: provide gardening assistance/beautification for low-income HUD Housing Project. Workdays on West Texas Str may include fall clean-up, mulching, pruning, planting, weeding as needed.

Workshops: schedule informative, sometimes hands-on events. Previous workshops: rock painting, sprinkler repair, wreath making

Yearbook (Word, Publisher) Biannual updates.
